After healthy doses of procrastination, denial, kicking, screaming and an honest lack of interest, I have finally come to the conclusion that an Allpart-Haweka blog is not only necessary from a company point of view but it can also be a lot of fun…if I play my cards right. With that said, welcome to the inaugural Allpart-Haweka blog, where you can expect highly interesting and “never boring” musings on company news and events; product news, updates and education; automotive lift news; wheel service and wheel balancing news; industry and marketplace news; etc. etc.…as well as (here comes the fun stuff) jet setting international travel; domestic travel (rife with TSA frustration and body searches…not so fun); hotel reviews and recommendations; sports reviews (don’t expect much golf); live music reviews; and, most importantly…beer, burger and pub reviews from across the country…and Canada. So, since all work and no play makes Jon a very dull boy, prepare for a bit of business and pleasure, sincerity and levity, hard work and play from a most sacred, yet profane tour guide…me. Hope you enjoy it!
To kick things off, let’s get up to date with company news, events and developments taking us through the end of the year and into 2017:
SEMA – Just around the corner now…November 1-4. Look for next week’s blog detailing booth information, featured products and new products on display at this year’s show in Las Vegas.
New products – At SEMA, Allpart will launch an Allpart branded power unit, Haweka Bike Boss motorcycle balancer and will re-introduce the Airgo Wheel Lift with updates made for the North American marketplace. Also, there is a big announcement on the horizon involving Allpart, Haweka and the Heavy Duty marketplace. Watch this space.
TIA Training Facilty – Allpart is entering a very exciting venture with TIA to become an authorized training center at our facility in Arlington, TX. As of now, there are three training events scheduled in 2017 with more to follow. Stay tuned for upcoming news and a dedicated blog on the TIA venture.
Website – We are very close to launching a new Allpart Supply website focusing on the automotive lift replacement parts side of our business. With more lift part information and simpler site navigation, we are looking forward to making this available to our customers before the end of the year. Obviously, once completed, work will begin on an updated Haweka website as well.
Local Truck Initiative – We are very pleased to announce the addition of Dan Wolford to the Allpart-Haweka family. Dan is pioneering a new company initiative by selling Allpart lift replacement parts and Haweka wheel balancing adapters and tooling directly to shops in the North Texas marketplace. In addition, Dan will be providing product demonstrations and educating the marketplace on properly mounting and balancing wheels. Again, stay tuned for a more detailed blog entry on the local truck initiative in the very near future.
ALI Certification – Allpart is also pleased to announce that Ken Korn is halfway through the process of becoming an ALI-certified automotive lift inspector. This certification will open the door to more ALI visibility and enable us to be more directly involved with lift maintenance, repair and inspection in the marketplace. Good luck, Ken!
With that out of the way, here’s a quick run through some of the fun stuff before signing off…
- Pre-Check status at airports is a must. If you are not already enrolled, do it!
- One-word description of Red Sox playoff run…
- After being told about it from many a good friend, finally got a chance to sample Fort Worth’s own Wild Acre Brewing Co. beers and can’t recommend them highly enough!
- Southern Stout and Session Bock…absolutely delicious and goes down a treat!
- Speaking of Fort Worth, if ever there, get on over to Hein BBQ on Magnolia…but get there early (and be prepared for a long line)…they tend to run out of meats before 6pm.
And that just about does it for the inaugural blog. Tune in next week for the pre-SEMA edition.
Until then, if you’re going to lie, lie for a friend. If you’re going to steal, steal a heart. If you’re going to cheat, cheat, death. And if you’re going to drink, drink with me!
Slainte mhor agad!
